Act as a chaperone for a Summer Fun Thursdays field trip to Quassy!
Open Doors and the After-School Buddies team have organized a field trip for families in shelter to visit Quassy Amusement Park & Waterpark in Middlebury.
Chaperones will help families during their time at the park and on the bus (if you choose to join us on the bus rather than traveling separately) by making sure that the group stays together, that everyone is having fun and staying safe, and that we stick to our schedule for the day. Since there is a "big kids" area and "little kids" area of the park, we may split into two groups and have a chaperone leader for each group.
Open Doors has rented a bus for transportation that will leave our main building at 4 Merritt Street at 9:30am and return at 6:00pm. We encourage you to join us on the bus, but if you would prefer to take your own transportation to the park, please let us know!
Open Doors will cover the cost of admission to the park and a "grab and go" lunch from the park restaurant for each volunteer. We will also have snacks and drinks available on the bus. Please come with everything you need for the day - appropriate clothing, etc - and a fully charged cell phone!
